Men of Faith

The Men of Faith is a group of Faith Lutheran Church men who gather for food, fellowship, dialogue and prayer the fourth (usually) Saturday of each month in Fellowship Hall.  They share a hearty breakfast, a scripture reading and discussion, and, occasionally, a guest speaker or a conversation on a timely and appropriate issue.  The Men of Faith also have an activity club for social events each month.

Upcoming events include:

“Faith and the Presidents”: January 28, 8 a.m.
David Bleich, who has worked in politics for years, is in the process of reading at least one biography on each of the U.S. Presidents, in chronological order. He has now arrived at George W. Bush, and will no doubt be on Barack Obama by the time of our breakfast. He will share his observations on the role that faith and religion have played in the lives of U.S. Presidents.

George Mason Men’s Basketball: February 4, 5 p.m.
Join the Men of Faith for a fun evening of college hoops as the George Mason men’s basketball team takes on Old Deminion. Game time is 5 p.m., and those wishing to carpool can meet at Faith at 3:30 p.m. Following the game, we will visit a local watering hole for some post-game refreshments. Tickets are available for $9 by emailing Andy Ruge.

Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper: February 21, 6:30 p.m.
The Men of Faith will host the traditional Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper at the church, beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Help cook dinner or assist with the evening’s program, the Shrove Tuesday Talent Show! Plan on bringing the family to mark our traditional night-before-lent celebration.
