Come join us on Saturday, April 21, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. for Faith’s first Earth Day Fair! The Earth Day Fair is a project of Faith’s new ministry, “The Green Team,” dedicated to reducing Faith’s carbon footprint and educating our community about earth-friendly measures.

Participants can expect a demonstrations on backyard chicken farming from the Arlington Egg Project, gardening from Home Depot, auto maintenance from Arlington Auto Care and a free bicycle clinic with Performance Bicycle. Representatives from Interfaith Power and Light and Virginia Dominion Power will also be on hand to share practical tips for energy efficiency at home.

Meet Bishop Younan from the Holy Land

Join us this Sunday, February 26, for an amazing opportunity to meet with and learn from the Rt. Rev. Dr. Munib A. Younan, Bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land. Bishop Younan will be leading the Adult Forum at 10:00 a.m. and will join us for worship at 11.

The Rt. Rev. Dr. Munib A. Younan has been bishop of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Jordan and the Holy Land (ELCJHL) since 1998 and president of the Lutheran World Federation, a global communion of Christians, since 2012. He will be in our area to speak on the U. S. Institute of Peace panel addressing “Preventing Incitement and Promoting Peace.”

Ordained in 1976, Bishop Younan has served as a youth pastor and parish pastor, and was the first to translate the Augsburg Confession into Arabic. He is the author ofWitnessing for Peace,a book about the search for peace in his homeland. He has written numerous articles on churches and the search for peace in the Holy Land.
